
This is an ongoing photo research about Liberia's people, culture, and History.
I left Liberia when I was fourteen in 2009 and moved to the United States of America with my parents and two sisters. The only history of Liberia I knew for a while was the twenty years of civil war. I was born during the war, went to school, and lived a pseudo-normal life during the war. In January 2023, I received the SMFA Montague Travel Grant, Which took me to Liberia. Where I spent ten days discovering and learning about its people, art, and culture. I had a unique opportunity to visit the former President of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf
